Colon Hydrotherapy FAQ

LEARN MORE

It has been estimated that most Americans have around 10 pounds of this uneliminated fecal material caked on their intestinal walls, inhibiting effective nutrient absorption and peristalsis (the musculature contraction that produces healthy bowel movements), as well as providing a food source which allows for the overgrowth of unfriendly microbes in our gut. As our colon becomes backed up and toxic, our entire body becomes toxic and suffers the consequences. Either health, or disease, begins in the colon. Change the health of your colon and you change your life.

What is Colon Hydrotherapy?

Colon Hydrotherapy is one of the most powerful, effective and safe methods to clean and detoxify the entire body. It hydrates the colon, softening impacted stool while diluting toxins and flushing them out. The procedure benefits all organs of the body while strengthening the colon muscle and promoting natural peristalsis.

The inflow of water and the release of waste is repeated many times during a session, diluting the bacterial toxin concentration in the large intestine without depleting the delicate balance of flora. A colonic is a comfortable experience for most people.

What to Expect

  • Client undresses from the waist down and will be properly draped throughout the session.
  • The Colon Cleansing Nozzle is gently and easily inserted, “the size of a pencil,” single use, and disposable.
  • The LIBBE Device is comfortable and may be operated in privacy for those who prefer solitude.
  • The certified colon hydrotherapist is always available to monitor and assist the client as needed.
  • Temperature controlled water flows through a carbon filter which removes sediment, rust, and chlorine.
  • The client controls the rate of the water from the gravity-fed column by a Flow Control Knob.
  • The water is purified by an Ultra Violet -Water Purification System, before it passes gently into the client.
  • Purified Water flows in.... feces flows out, when the client feels the need to release.
  • The water used during the session is at a safely controlled temperature of 98º F to 102ºF. (Water can be safely adjusted to client/patient comfort.)
  • An odor exhaust system insures that the session room and entire center remains totally odor free.
  • A session lasts approximately 45 minutes. After each session the LIBBE is easily and thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

Before the Session

Do not eat at least 2 hours before starting your session.

During the Session

Hold on to the water by contracting your anal muscles. This will allow the water to go up and all the way around the colon, but it is not a contest, if there is discomfort, release. The more water flows in, the further up and around the colon the water goes, softening fecal matter and flushing the colon. You may experience some cramping during the session.

After the Session

Take it easy, relax. You may be a little tired or you may be energized.  Eat what is easiest for your body to digest.

What is Colon Hydrotherapy?

Colon Hydrotherapy- also known as colonics, colon therapy, colon cleansing and colonic irrigation is a safe and highly effective method of removing waste from the large intestine, without the use of drugs. By introducing filtered and temperature regulated water into the colon, the compacted waste is softened and loosened, resulting in evacuation through natural peristalsis. The inflow of water and the release of waste is repeated several times during a session. During the session, the client is draped to ensure dignity and modesty. The client lies comfortably on their back on a state-of-the-art treatment table. A small, sterile, disposable nozzle is gently inserted into the rectum... through which warm filtered water passes into the colon. This enhances the absorption of nutrients from the cecum and ascending colon while minimizing the absorption of toxic waste material. The cleansing effects of colon hydrotherapy reduces stagnation and subsequent bacterial proliferation in the colon and maintains harmony of the intestinal flora in promoting optimal health. A certified colon hydrotherapist is available always, and monitors and assists the client as needed.

What Happens During The Session?

A well-lubricated nozzle is self-inserted by the client a few inches into the rectum. Purified water is then introduced into the colon using slow pressure. The client allows the water to fill their colon and may, at first, feel like they must have a bowel movement. This is normal due to the pressure filling the colon. The pressure continues to increase slowly until the client feels like they are full and at that point, the client can release the contents. The client releases both water and waste material into the colon therapy base, and out into the sewer. There is no smell due to a highly specified ventilation system. This process is repeated several times during the session. The number of times that the client fills and releases may vary from person to person and session to session.

How Many Colonics Do I Need?

This depends on the lifestyle you live and the level of health you want to achieve! We recommend that clients listen to their bodies to know when it is time. If constipation has been a long term issue, more sessions may be needed. Some clients like to get one colonic each month, some do a mini-cleanse of three colonics, four times per year. We can work with you to determine your health and wellness goals and develop a program that offers you the best result!

How Often Can I Get a Colonic?

Initially, a series of at least three separate therapy sessions may be recommended, to achieve the maximum cleansing benefit. This helps to eliminate fecal matter which may have been lodged in the colon for weeks, months, or even years, and to keep the client properly hydrated. Many Physicians, such as Dr. Kellogg, Dr. Wiltsie, Dr. Waddington, and others suggest twelve sessions over a ten week period, two **back-to-back the first week, two back-to-back the second week and one a week for eight weeks. **Back-to-back means 1 today & 1 tomorrow. Your colon therapist should be able to suggest a reasonable schedule depending on your personal health status and desire for further therapy.

The LIBBE, a Class II FDA registered medical device, is comfortable and may be operated in privacy for those who prefer solitude. A certified colon hydrotherapist is available at all times, and monitors and assists the client as needed. Any smell is swept away thru a ventilation system within the drain tube, therefore no odor is emitted. Pressure, temperature, and flow of water are all safely regulated throughout the session. The water is purified with a carbon filter and an Ultraviolet Water Purification System.
